Hanging Out in Jogja

Last month, on 24th April, 2012, my husband and I fetched my son who is studying at SMA Taruna Nusantara. He just finished the national examination, and the school gives the students of XII grade holiday for  a month, while waiting the announcement of graduation time on 26th Mei, 2012.

My brother and my aunt joined us. From Magelang we visited my daughter in Jogja who is still studying at Medical program of UGM. We had a night in Jogja by hanging out around Jogja. There were two places we visited and enjoyed it, namely 'Alu-Alun Kidul' and 'taman Pelangi'.

The interesting activity we saw, there were so many domestic tourists trying to walk through beetween two Beringin plants by closing their eyes. They started walking about a hundred metres in front of  the two beringin plants. By closing their eyes they tried to walk directly in order to walk through between them, but actually it was not too easy to do that. There were so many people unwittingly turn directions, left or right, so they couldn't pass it. All of us curious to go try it. Some of us could walk straightly and some others couldn't. Moreover, around the square there were so many 'Becak Hias', pedicabs adorned with colorful lights. Tourists can enjoy the night by pedaling them go around 'alun-alun kidul' after that they can enjoy some culinary tour like hot baverage and food.

'Taman Pelangi' or 'Taman Lampion' is another night spot we can visit in Jogja. Years ago we knew it as 'Monumen Jogja Kembali'. We can enjoy kinds of lampion at night. There are also many places for children play.
